We have all been touched in some way by Alzheimer’s Disease. At Deerfield, the effort to end this disease is especially close to our hearts as it impacts our daily lives. The Alzheimer’s Association was formed in 1980 by a group of family caregivers and individuals who were interested in research. Now, 43 years later, the organization is the largest non-profit funder of Alzheimer’s research with over $360 million invested in over 1000 active projects in 53 countries on 6 continents.

In addition to research, the Alzheimer’s Association provides support and advocacy for the estimated 50 million people worldwide suffering with dementia.

Purple is recognizable in fight to end dementia. This is what the Alzheimer’s Association says about their choice of color:

Purple is our signature color, combining the calm stability of blue and the passionate energy of red. Purple makes a statement about our Association and our supporters: We are strong and unrelenting in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

Why join the walk? Be a part of the fabulous pro-active community supporting an important cause and… Prevention!
