Visitation of Health Center Residents Now Permitted

Effective Thursday, April 8th, Deerfield’s Health Center, both the Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facilities, will be open to visitors. Scheduling appointments will no longer be necessary.
• Upon arrival, all visitors will undergo a mandatory screening process, including a temperature check and screening questionnaire. Any visitor, who screens positive for or who is observed to have signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or exposure to a person with COVID-19 within the past 14 days, will be denied entry, regardless of vaccination status.
• Visitors are required to observe the core principles of COVID-19 infection prevention at all times while visiting the facility.

The core principles of COVID-19 infection prevention include:
• Wearing a properly-fitting face covering or mask, covering the nose and mouth, at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
• Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from residents and staff in the facility. Vaccinated residents may engage in physical touch with visitors if both are wearing a well-fitting face mask and hand hygiene is performed thereafter.
• Performing hand hygiene, using alcohol-based hand rub preferentially, throughout visit.
• Residents may welcome no more than 2 visitors at a time.
• Individuals should visit with only one resident {or a married couple) upon each visit to the facility. At this time, individuals planning to visit with multiple residents will not be permitted.
• Visitors must proceed directly to the resident’s room or designated visitation area. Visitors will not be permitted in the dining rooms.
• For residents who live in semi-private suites, visits should take place out of the room, outdoors or in a designated indoor visitation area, whenever possible.
• Outdoor visitation is preferred.
