Wear, Wait, and Wash

The 3 W’s: Wear, Wait, and Wash to Continue Slowing the Spread of COVID-19

Introduced by Secretary Mandy Cohen (MD, MPH), the state’s Department of Health and Human Services is asking North Carolinians to prioritize these three actions to continue to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Stay home if you are sick. Even just a little bit sick. Older adults are at high risk for experiencing a severe syndrome if they contract COVID-19 and should stay home to the greatest extent manageable. If you do leave home, practice the 3 W’s:

WEAR: Wear a cloth mask, fully covering your nose and mouth.

WAIT: Wait at least 6 feet apart from other people. Avoid close contact.

WASH: Wash your hands often and thoroughly with soap and water. Use hand sanitizer frequently.

Stay Home. Wear. Wait. Wash. And take good care.
