Continue to Practice the 3 W’s

The best contribution that we can make as individuals is to thoughtfully and consistently practice the 3 W’s: WEAR a face covering, WAIT 6 feet apart from others and avoid crowds, and WASH one’s hands or use hand sanitizer frequently. At present, we do not have therapeutics of the type and efficacy to create a notable public health impact and we do not have a vaccine. What we do have is outreach education and effective public health mitigation strategies that are (maybe a bit inconvenient, but) simple to perform. Calm, determined, willing compliance with mitigation strategies is demonstrative of compassion for others and is supportive of the end goal that we all want – for the COVID-19 pandemic to be nothing but a (traumatic) memory – and also supportive of the more immediate goal of continued progressive relaxation of restrictions locally and in our state.
