Yarn Bombing at Deerfield

Yarn bombing is a worldwide movement thought to have started in TX. The knitters wanted a creative way to use knitting projects that had been cast aside. The first “bombers” used their creations to reclaim and personalize sterile or cold public places.

100 Deerfield residents participated in our Yarn Bomb by knitting, crocheting, weaving, and installing this colorful art installation. Knitters planned this event for months and wrapped trees in the Circle Woods and in the Butterfly Garden. Deerfield’s yarn bombing is a lovely precursor to spring!
