Tree Trivia

The true color of leaves. In the spring, summer, and early fall, the leaves of deciduous trees are green due to the chlorophyll, which is necessary for metabolism. In the fall, the leaves start to lose the chlorophyll, and the true color of the leaves is revealed. Maples, poplars, oaks, and many other trees put on a dazzling show of color; especially in these mountains.

By the way, the colder air that we are experiencing will signal migratory birds to migrate. While looking at the leaf colors you may see some of these migrants passing through. Enjoy our beautiful area of the world!!
