The wood working shop at Deerfield has been a buzz! A group of residents spent over 75 hours making 325 wooden toy cars that were given to the Salvation Army and to the Mission Hospital pediatric department. These toys were distributed to needy children in Buncombe, Henderson, Polk and Transylvania counties. This is the tenth year that Deerfield residents have volunteered to help the community and they have proudly produced over 2850 toy cars. Many thanks to the team that worked on this years cars: Bill Metts, Claire Graves, Jim Graves, Larry Hull, Bob Sigmon, Doug Young, Mel Skiles, Tom Daily and Dave Galentine.
