The Farmer’s Almanac suggests starting most planting after the final frost of the season. With beautiful days in the 70s, it can be so hard to believe it will freeze again. We’ve finally passed Mother’s Day (a general guide for planting flowers) and gardening at Deerfield is in full swing.
The main Deerfield garden has 38 reserved raised beds where residents grow gorgeous fresh vegetables and flowers. Gardeners adhere to organic gardening practices and work together throughout the growing season. In addition to those larger garden beds, there are 32 smaller raised beds easily accessible to residents in Assisted Living.
